iRepair4u is a Carphone Specialist,Inc company. We started in 1984, when the first "carphones" were installed in cars. We did our work on the road, at the customer's location.So, in effect, we can call ourselves "pioneers" in the cellular business! Over the years as the carphone became portable, the number of installations decreased, and the number of handhelds increased. In 1994 we opened our present location at 2134 S. Broad St. Phila., PA 19145. We also added pagers to our product line. In the year 2000, cellphone monthly fees decreased to a point that pagers were no longer needed by the main stream. Mostly Doctors and answering services still use them today. It put a big dent in our business as more and more "fly by nights" were entering the cellular business. No longer was our expertise and knowledge of installation a factor in purchasing a cellphone.Now, price seems to be the deciding factor in making a purchase, not how many years a store was in business. So how did we survive you may ask, well in 2006 I hit the Powerball Lottery (just kidding), I decided that I had to do something to separate us from the others, and since I can't compete with the full page ads in Sunday's paper, or radio and tv, I had to go back to basics and find something that I was good at and liked to do. That something was electronics repair. I applied my 22 years of electronic know how to fixing iPods and video games! It is very fullfilling to fix someones electronic "toy" for a good price with fast service. When I fix something and see that the customer really appreciates it, it reminds me of the "old days" of installing carphones, and the reason I have built a good relationship with my customers. Give the customers a great service at a good price, and the word of mouth is stronger than any ad out there, trust me I know!
